It’s Great to be an Aunt
Tomorrow I get to see my sweet, amazing, cute, cuddly nephew and niece (oh yes, and my brother and wonderful sister-in-law too). My niece Lauren is getting baptized this weekend so the whole fam, minus David (SAD), will be going.
My brother and his family live in Annandale, VA, a town about 30 minutes outside of DC. I just love visiting them, although I don’t get to go as much as I’d like. Here are some pics of the cute lil’ duo. I’ll be sure to post more when I get back!

Oh, and here’s a picture of my brother and his lovely wife ’cause I love them, too!

Have a super great weekend everyone. Much love!

Forgiveness
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to have coffee with a woman I really look up to and because of (awesome) Miami traffic I was almost an hour late. But, she was gracious and she dropped some wisdom bombs on me in the area of forgiveness. So ever since then I have been looking up a lot of stuff on the subject. And you know what I found? Forgiveness is kind of a big deal, especially in the Bible. This verse kicks my butt!

Matthew 6:14-15:
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
WHAT? Did I read that right? If I don’t forgive… God won’t forgive me? DANG!
I recently watched a teaching by Perry Noble (from NewSpring Church) on forgiveness and he laid into it! Here are some points I really appreciated:

Q&A with Candi Pearson-Shelton: Part 2
Here is part 2 of my interview with Candi-Pearson Shelton and your chance to win a signed copy of her book “Desperate Hope” and accompanying CD, “Yet I Will Rejoice”.
Tell me about your new book. What is like being an author?
I didn’t set out to be an author. It’s not something I wanted to do. But I process things internally and then I write them. I had all these thoughts that I wanted to talk about with God.

Q&A with Candi Pearson-Shelton: Part 1

This weekend I had the amazing opportunity to sit down with singer/songwriter, recording artist, worship leader and all-around cool chica, Candi Pearson-Shelton. She has toured all over, recorded and led worship with the Passion conferences, and now she is an author to a new book: Desperate Hope. I will be real honest here I’ve been a pretty big fan for a while now. Candi has an amazingly pure and beautiful voice that just makes my little ears happy. Not to mention she is a super authentic woman who will open her heart and share the journey and path God has led her down. And even after her seeing what a big dorky fan I was she graciously sat down, chatted and answered a few questions for me. Yeah, she rocks!
When you were little what was it that you wanted to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a singer. But also if the singing didn’t work out I wanted to be a marine biologist. I don’t think I even knew what that was I just knew it had to do with the ocean. But the older I got the more I knew what was in the ocean and the less I wanted to be a marine biologist and the more I wanted to sing. But, I have been singing since I was two so I can’t ever remember not singing.
