Genie’s Story
Genie Uribe grew up in Miami, Florida and fell in love with worship, music and the church at an early age. The diverse and colorful city of Miami offered her a strong foundation for music and love for people. Genie grew up in the church and began serving as a worship leader while in middle school. It was on a mission trip to Costa Rica where she heard call from the Lord to serve His church.
Soon after, Genie attended Azusa Pacific University and received a bachelors degree in music. It was at APU where she was not only stretched musically to new heights but her leadership was shaped and molded as well. She served and interned at a local church as well as many on campus student leadership opportunities.
After graduating in 2007 she moved back to Florida and began full time ministry at South Palm Community Church in West Palm Beach, Florida. Here she learned and served under the leadership of Lead Pastor Stan Coleman and Worship Pastor Matt Benson.
In 2009 Genie began her journey at Potential Church a church in south Florida of over 12,000 strong. She served as the worship pastor at the Miami campus and learned and grew under many amazing leaders including Lead Pastor, Troy Gramling.
Genie lives in Miami, Florida with her husband David, a video producer & designer. Both enjoy live music, traveling, and finding the best pizza made.
